// how it works

How it works

  1. Download Wake

    Install the native app for macOS; Linux and Windows builds are in beta.

  2. Browse your history

    Sessions appear grouped by agent and project, searchable with ⌘K / Ctrl+K, readable as full transcripts with tool calls and thinking.

  3. Resume in one click

    Jump straight back into a session in your terminal (Terminal, iTerm, Warp, Ghostty and more) or in Claude / Codex Desktop, in the right project folder.

// features

Why people love it

One place for every session

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and more, grouped by agent and project with sub-agents nested under parents.

Search that finds the moment

Full-text search over every title and transcript jumps straight to the match — code and CJK included.

Agents that remember

The Wake plugin briefs each new Claude Code or Codex session on where previous agents left off.

MCP and CLI access

wake-mcp and wake-cli let any agent search your history and read transcripts, and SSH remote hosts mirror sessions from your other machines.

// run it

Run it yourself

  1. Install the Claude Code plugin

    Teaches new sessions to pick up where agents left off.

    claude plugin marketplace add iAmCorey/Wake --sparse .claude-plugin plugins/wake && claude plugin install wake@wake
  2. Or the Codex plugin

    Same continuity for Codex.

    codex plugin marketplace add iAmCorey/Wake --sparse .agents/plugins --sparse plugins/wake && codex plugin add wake@wake
  3. Build from source

    Rust + GPUI; see the repo for platform notes.

    git clone https://github.com/iAmCorey/Wake && cd Wake
// use cases

What you can build

  • Finding that one conversation where an agent solved a problem last week
  • Resuming a half-finished agent session in the right project folder
  • Cleaning up the sessions eating your disk in one pass
  • Reviewing activity insights: heatmaps, streaks, top agents, projects and models

// faq

Questions, answered

Who maintains Wake?

iAmCorey; the project site is wake.cool.

Is it free?

Yes, MIT-licensed and open source.

Does it need a paid API key?

No — Wake reads local session files read-only, entirely on your machine.

How does it compare to a well-known alternative?

Agent CLIs bury history in per-tool folders. Wake unifies every tool’s sessions in one searchable native app, and feeds that memory back into new sessions.

How do I get started?

Download Wake from wake.cool or the GitHub releases, open it, and your existing agent sessions are already there.
